Daejeon, The Heart of the Korean Peninsula

270,000 Years of History
The history of Daejeon dates back to the Old Stone Age, which was over 270,000 years ago. Under the influence of "Uam Song Si-yeol," the compiler of the Sung Confucianism, Daejeon was known as a City of Gentlemen. Modern Daejeon grew rapidly with the relocation of the Chungnam Provincial Office from Gongju. The creation of the Daedeok Research Complex in 1974, the transfer of the ROK Force headquarters in 1989, and the establishment of the Daejeon Government Complex in 1998 have all contributed to the importance of Daejeon in central Korea.

Culture: Diversity and Generosity
Visitors to the City often remark on the friendliness and generosity of its local residents. All conference participants are required to register in order to attend the conference. For oral presentation and inclusion of paper in conference proceedings, a full registration before June 30, 2012 is mandatory for at least one author. Student registrations are intended for students who wish to visit the conference --- papers cannot be published and presented with such a registration. A maximum of two papers can be published for each full (non-student) registration. Register for HPSG 2012 and Ellipsis Workshop in advance and help us put the conference in better shape.
